Jovanna N. Mastro
North Carolina and South Carolina Family Law Attorney
The decision to become a family law attorney was easy for me. Growing up, I saw the lives of so many of my friends and family members turned upside down as the result of a divorce. Divorce is such a difficult process and it has the ability to cause immense pain for all involved. As I pursued an undergraduate degree in psychology, I knew that I wanted to dedicate my career to helping children and families through difficult situations. When I made the decision to go to law school, I knew family law would be the natural fit for my skill set. As a lawyer practicing family law, I have the opportunity to help people through some of the toughest and most emotional points in their lives. I feel that every client has their own unique story and needs an advocate who will listen to them, understand their story, and help them to determine their immediate and future needs. My goal in representing clients is to help guide them toward a resolution that will leave their dignity intact and create a foundation upon which they can re-build.
I was born and raised in Tampa, Florida where most of my family still resides. I graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Experimental Psychology. The University of South Carolina School of Law is a national leader in Children’s Law among law schools, so I decided to remain a Gamecock for another three years and attend law school at the University of South Carolina. Throughout law school, I concentrated my studies in areas of law that would complement a family law practice and I was actively involved in the Student Bar Association, Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, and the Children’s Advocacy Law Society. I obtained my Juris Doctor and Children’s Law Certificate from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2016 and began my career in family with Krusch & Sellers, P.A. in the fall of 2016.
I am licensed to practice in North Carolina and South Carolina so that I can assist families in this area in both States.
