A Canadian man is challenging the new Family Law Act in that country, which forces biological
fathers into court to prove a relationship and gain
visitation or other rights if a child has been conceived through casual sex with a woman. In this case, the man learned earlier this year of the woman’s pregnancy and her plan to leave for a different province with her family. He is now attempting to prevent her from moving until his paternity rights are established. Does Canada’s new law hurt or help the family unit?
