At least in Kansas, apparently, yes. William Marotta of Topeka responded to a Craiglist ad in 2009 posted by a lesbian couple who wanted to have a baby. For no charge, he donated “genetic material” to the couple and signed agreements with them saying that he had no future financial responsibility for the child, who is now three. However, because Marotta didn’t go through a doctor for the donation, the state of Kansas is now saying that he’s liable for
child support because under Kansas law, he is the child’s father. Check out the full article
