As you might have heard, the
Democratic National Convention will be landing on Charlotte, NC next week, September 3-7, 2012. Regardless
of your political affiliation or ideological leanings, the DNC is coming
and will certainly leave its mark as one of the biggest and most closely-watched
events in Charlotte’s history (although, apparently, not
THE biggest event). As a law firm located only a few short minutes from where the Convention
will be taking place, we are excited about the potential impact the DNC
could have on our fair city.
However, from a logistical standpoint – namely, hosting a sitting
President and Vice President, as well as tens of thousands of delegates
and protesters – it’s going to be tough getting around Charlotte
for the next several days. Uptown (our version of “downtown”)
will face daily road closures, and traffic around town is expected to
